Name: Knox (1)
Location: U.S.
We've recently transitioned Knox's room from his "baby" room to a more toddler friendly space. The other day my husband commented that Knox's room is "The Room of Yes" for him. It's a place where we never have to tell him, "No, no--don't touch that!"
Everything is safe and just his size. As such, it's become everyone's new favorite place in our house to be.
The biggest change was modifying his crib to make a DIY floor bed that he can get in and out of on his own. We also picked up the blue, metal shelves (at a local flea market) to keep his toys organized and easily accessible.

Sheex Bedding
Very sweet and simple. Love the paint color and bed. Amazed when kids can transition to a bed earlier than 3! My 5 year old was in her crib happily until 3 when little brother's arrival was nearing and my now 22 month old has a tent on his crib now to keep him in there.
Reminds me of Finn's Montessori Room tour. Like how it looks like a real room I would see. Like the 'finding ways to say yes' sentiment, too.
I agree. The baby out of the crib thing blows my mind. I can only imagine the destruction that would ensue if we were to pull our 17 mo twins out of their crib. Good for you, Knox! Great room too. I love the yes concept behind it!
What a nice blend of cozy AND visually interesting. More parents should consider their young child's perspective and needs when planning spaces. You rock! And I also must add, Rock Chalk, Jayhawk! (Had to smile when I spotted that pillow!)
I love it! More children's rooms should look like this!
Love this design. I moved my daughter out of her crib and into a floor bed at 18 months. It was an amazingly easy transition. We did have a few weeks of hopping between sleeping in the parent's bed and her bed but she decided her bed was better. We also have sheep skin rugs around her bed for the roll outs that happen in the beginning. The one thing that might be an issue in the set up pictured is the window. It looks pretty low and kids love to open/lean against the glass to look out. We have stops to prevent our daughter from opening the window very wide.
Look like my daughter's room! It is so important to have a space where they can 'just be' little children. I adore the colors, and of course- that Montessori Floor Bed!
It, if you need a tent On the crib, your child is done with it! Both of my kids were done with the crib around 12 months and on a regular mattress with no issues. I love this idea for a room.
I love the color and how it a room of yes! Great job! We switched my son the a floor bed at two and he loves it.
Love this room. My son now 22 months has been in a custom made bed (on the floor) from the beginning. Everyone thought we were crazy but it was the best decision for our little guy. He is able to get out of his bed, play in his room and go back to bed at his will. He also gets out of bed in the morning and plays without needing us right away which is great on Saturday mornings.
i love positive rooms like this one, so nice to see a kid have a kid-centric space!
This is beautiful. Do you find that you need to secure the blue shelf to the wall so he doesn't topple it when/if climbing?
Love this room.
My husband makes montessori beds.

I love the "yes" room idea. We have a very curious and energetic 19 month old and we always feel like we're telling her no! We did the exact same thing by making a playroom for her and her older sis that is totally child proofed and safe for them. Whenever they get really wild downstairs we send them up to play without limits. Nice job.
