Who Lives Here: Kristin, Sonny, daughter Loie and a fish named Thing
Location: Livermore, California
Tell us about this home: "Walkability was a huge factor when we were looking to buy a house. We wanted to be in walking distance to downtown, farmer’s market, the library and other amenities our town had to offer. We were also hoping to live in an older home. Location, age, price and a competitive market left us searching for almost a year and half before getting the keys to this charming 1929 bungalow..." More photos below:
"We haven't had to do much, just add our playful and forward thinking style to the bungalow’s existing charm. Since we moved in, we have repainted with low VOC paints and started an herb and vegetable garden. We have also added small touches with vintage and salvaged furnishings both inside and out.
One of our favorite places that we just recently finished is our outdoor dining area. Vintage windows hang from the existing trellis to help define the space. Below stock tanks serve as raised garden beds and enclose one side. Using reclaimed redwood and galvanized pipes we assembled a long dining table. The low seating vintage chairs add a burst of color and playfulness to this rustic dining space."
Thanks, Kristin!

Darling house, I love the colors and those plates on the wall are divine!
Can you tell us what is in the old TV cabinet? Did you turn it into a fish tank? I'd love to see the tutorial on that!
