082108_kurage_03.jpgThis lamp is the third in a series. The previous lamps had 1.0 mm thick fiber-optic cable. This one has 1.5 mm, making the chandelier brighter.

082108_kurage_04.jpgOne of the most intriguing features is that the brightness is controlled by adjusting the curve of the chandelier. If you make the chandelier's fiber-optic cables curve past the critical angle for the 1.5-mm cable, instead of shooting through the tube of glass, the light emitted from an LED light source leaks out. That's how why it dims. It also sports a natural, messy and organic look.
