Name: Kyler (11 months)
Location: Orlando, Florida
We wanted to create a space Kyler could grow into that was bright, fun, and educational (keeping our budget in mind too)! I am not the craftiest person out there necessarily, however, thanks to Pinterest, Google, my hubby and my dad, I was able to find instructions for most of the things I wanted to do.
My husband made the entertainment center, my dad made the bookshelf and storage benches, and I made all of the poufs and some of the pillows! By doing a lot of the work ourselves, we were able to save a lot of money and were able to personalize the room more.
Our daughter loves her new playroom and it is so nice to have an area that is just for her! I imagine she will have many years of fun in this room and it was a blast putting it all together! We are buying her a kitchen for her birthday and the room will be complete!

Sprout Side Table
super cute. I love the Ikea rug with the poufs. Well done!
The statement pieces in this room, the orange wall, the red coffee table and those fabulous poufs, are so bright and cheerful. I can imagine this room looking just as great even when the floor is covered with toys and baskets are pulled out. Great job!
GORGEOUS! I love love love it!
Such a fun room! Where did you get the pattern for the poufs? (And how hard were they to make?)
Great room. Looks like a fun place for the whole family to hang out, not just for kids to play. Really love the bookshelves- am jealous of those. Also a huge fan of the orange wall & map.
I like it, but I'd leave the tv out of the playroom, if possible.
This room looks like so much fun!
This is great and will definitely be a favorite hangout for your daughter and her friends! It's so large it looks like you could have a preschool in there.
Also --- just a decor pet peeve of mine --- why are so many pillows needed? There are 8 on the sofa and you'd have to move most of them to let people sit comfortably. But that rainbow chevron is so cheery!
that's amazing and I would have thought it was designer if you hadn't told me it was DIY. It doesn't look at all DIY, it strikes me as high end. I'd like to see your whole house now.
Lovely room! I've been looking to hang my daughters artwork and would like to know where you purchased your hardware. Is this sold at IKEA? Thanks!
Brilliant - it makes me want to be a child in your home. Wonderful message with the map on the wall - your kids will be fearless! I also love the reading station (though it's begging for a mini ottoman, reading lamp and fake fireplace). Well done, parents - I agree with the poster who said this would be a great hang-out space for kids & adults, even if it was covered in toys.
LOVE.
This is insanely cool! I wish I had such a cool place to hang out when I was a kid. Kyler is a lucky girl, I imagine she will be very popular and all her friends will want to hang out here. :) Also, kudos for DIYing so much. It really gives the space a warm, homey feeling instead of looking catalogey, and I love, love, love how colorful it is.
where did you get the frame for the "play" picture next to the crayon dripping? it looks like these beautiful frames (the manufacturer's name escapes me) that are only available via professional photographers. i'd love to get my hands on a couple to frame some postcards i have.

This pattern makes a pretty large pouf so I cut down on the dimensions a bit to make a more kid friendly size :) they are SUPER simple to make. I had never sewn before and I was able to pick it up pretty quick!
Yes! It's a curtain wired called Dignitet!
Hobby Lobby! I have seen various colors there recently.
Hi! Absolutely beautifule. Lucky little girl! What are the pics in the cloths line up high? I have one in my little girl's room with family pics, but yours look fun...also, what is the wire they're hung on? And even more pressing, did you MAKE that rainbow piece on the wall?! I must have/make/buy one! Stunning! :) thanks
Thanks! The pictures are actually ABC flash cards. The wire is from Ikea and are hanging up with little clips (also sold at Ikea). Are you referring to the crayon art? If so, yes! I have the quick and super simple tutorial on my blog if you want to see pictures of me making it. It is very easy and a lot of fun!
Wow! This is perfection. I'm inspired by your ideas for my classroom.
