I'm looking at the first photo. I assume there are holes in the headboard, because the bed is placed before a radiator. Very creative use of a "built in."
Last month, I was re-arranging furniture in my 10x10 bedroom, because we had upgraded from a queen to a king size mattress. The only place the bed looked good was along the wall in front of a radiator. I bought the malm bed, with attached side tables, which runs the entire length of the wall. However, the bed is pulled off the wall about 8 inches, so that the radiator can vent. The gap is kinda bugging me. But first photo gives me some inspiration and ideas.
Hi David!
There IS a disuised radiator behind there and those are holes. There's also a gap between the window and the top shelf to allow for heat to rise.

I am looking at the first photo, too. It makes a small space look very streamlined and I love the shelf running the width of the room. However, not having ever lived with a radiator, I assumed the holes were for airing out stored linens with the front tipping out for access.
Hi again!
We built the radiator cover with shelves ourselves to diguise it and to enable us to place the bed in front of the window without hitting our heads on the metal radiator :)
I put metal grommets in the drilled holes to make them look nicer, an idea stolen from a Martha Stewart Living screen from years ago.
Benita,
I saw the rest of your flicker photos and you have the cutest home ever! So fun!
Thank you, oandel!
