Don't get us wrong. We love to occasionally getaway from home to work at a coffee shop. But sometimes the noise and the distractions can be too...well...distracting. We realize we've just spent the last fifteen minutes listening to the argument between the couple next to us instead of working. We need a more peaceful place, maybe with some greenery, but we don't yet have our own backyard. If we're near West Hollywood, we scoot over to King's Road Park...
What they used to call a "vest pocket park," it's a little slice of shady greenery tucked onto the block just south of Santa Monica Boulevard. With plenty of benches, a fountain, even clean bathrooms, we can find a quiet spot even when the mothers and their kids arrive. And if we need a good cup of coffee, there are plenty of places within walking distance, though THAT coffee shop might be a little far.

Aww...I used to live across the street from that park! I miss it. I also miss walking up the street to Gelson's on Kings Rd and Santa Monica. And breakfast at Basix. And stumbling home after a few too many margaritas at Marix...mmm...margaritas...
