BTW: The photographers among you will scream but we have framed photographs in our bathroom and we’ve never had a problem. Our window’s usually left open a crack and we have a small plug-in heater with a fan which we run after we shower.
I have thought about doing this, but is there a problem with moisture in the bathroom ruining the artwork?
The curtains infront of the shower to include privacy and style is an INCREDIBLE idea! That bathroom looks like it's a spa getaway. I love it.
I have several framed pieces of art in my bathroom. I have never had a problem with steam. Hairspray, on the other hand, can be a bit of a bear to get off the glass, but I love having art in the bathroom!
dararose--I wouldn't hang a Van Gogh in there since humidity is bad on paper, but I like to switch parts of my postcard collection through. They'd be trapped in the dark of scrapbooks and photo boxes otherwise.
Since I live in a rented studio apartment and can't paint the boring off-white walls, having art in the bathroom is a must. Also, I am a poor college student so I have inexpensive prints from ikea in inexpensive frames so I don't need to worry if they get a little moisture damage. So far, the seem to be doing fine though.
I also have a large print (Matisse gold fish) in my bathroom and no issue with steam damage but I do run the fan for approx. 1/2 hour after each shower.
I have fabric framed in my bathroom right now and its holding up great! Just another art alternative for those worried about damage to paper :)
does anyone know where i can find that red toothbrush holder in the top photo? i think it's fabulous!
I had several special photos framed for the bathroom. The men at the framing shop sealed tightly and said no moisture would get in. A year on and no problems so far.
I have some letterpress cards in Ikea frames in my bathroom and they've been 100% fine. I probably wouldn't put any expensive original art in there, but there are so many inexpensive options it seems silly to leave the walls totally bare.
In the first picture there is a white stereo. Does anyone have any info about this item?
