There are so many fascinating pieces in the current catalog of the Los Angeles Modern Auction, which happens this Sunday, February 10, 2008. Everything from pottery, furniture, silverware, to even a 1935 chrome Nocturne radio will be on the block...
According to yesterday's LA Times article, the radio itself is believed to be "only one of 10 in existence." There's also a bunch of artwork, including some pieces from Warhol, Ellsworth Kelly, hand colored Neutra drawings, Moholy-Nagy prints, and more current artists, like photo prints from Mark Seliger. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, it's worth a look-see through the catalog just to see the items, many of which are very rare. There will be a preview from 10am -6pm now through Saturday at the Pacific Design Center. The auction begins at 12:00pm Sunday. You can view the entire catalog online here.
Has anyone been to the Los Angeles Modern Auction? Anyone get anything good? tips?
