Taken from the streets. Today's LA Times House and Home features a piece on the home of Carrie and Adam Carr's Beverly Grove home. She's filled it with cast off furniture finds, many of which she's picked up along streets and alleywys. She's brought these "diamonds in the rough" and transformed them to compliment their collection of fine art and photographs.
The results are eclectic and elegant. The article also touches upon how DIY decorating has become such a big hobby, and that has lead to industry reaction. They note that IKEA adds 100 new products each year, and that West Elm dramatically changes its colors every three to four months to "sate consumer's desire for a fresh look."
