11709-lat01.jpgWith Tuesday's historic inauguration looming, the world's attention will be focused on Washington DC and the reason for the festivities, President-elect Barack Obama. This week's Los Angeles Times Home and Garden section looks at how many of us have his image or some memorabilia of his campaign, displayed in our homes. If you're looking to do the same, along with the now classic image by Shepard Fairey there's a round-up of 19 other artists's interpretation of the Presidential image. In the Obama's own home, as most readers of AT are already aware, Santa Monica-based designer Michael S. Smith has been hired to decorate their living quarters in the White House. More, pics and links, after the jump...

Obama memorabilia displayed in homes: In a phenomenon not seen since the early 60s, many people are displaying the President-elect's image in their home.

Beyond Shepard Fairey: the many, many faces of Barack Obama: Considering displaying an image of the President-elect in your own home? Here's a round-up of images to inspire you.

Santa Monica-based designer Michael S. Smith to decorate Obama's White House Living Area: If you haven't already caught the details over on ATDC, LA favorite Michael S. Smith, who's known for balancing the glamorous with the functional, the modern with the classic, has been tapped to decorate the First Family's living quarters.

A Hollywood Hills sanctuary with a touch of India: If our first ever house tour of a home from India has whet your appetite for more, here's how one home brings more traditional touches of that country to bear on the design of its garden.

Nicky Kehoe opens on Highland Avenue: Nickey Kehoe, who decorated the Ruffalo abode that is featured in Domino (we slink it over on Ohdeedoh, our kid's site) and who is the source of some great bedroom tips, has opened a store on an up and coming stretch of Highland, just north of Melrose.
