H2Ome Last weekend's WEST magazine was another home/design issue. It concentrated on beautiful examples in LA area homes of decorative pools, fountains and indoor streams. Unfortunately the website only has the text versions of the story without any accompanying images. I took a few shots of the issue, so please excuse the poor quality.
One of the most interesting examples was from a home designed by Architect David Hertz, located in Venice. He used a triple waterfall that cascades down into a reflecting pool, which captures incoming breezes and cools the home. Read more about it here.
Another fun example was a home in Rancho Mirage, whose owner was a major pool lover. Instead of a "house with a pool", he wanted a "pool with a house." The owners also took advantage of a hillside slope and built in a pool which can be viewed from inside their living room- James Bond style. Read more about it here. If you still have your LA Times Sunday paper laying around, look for this issue of West.
