Howard Butcher Bloc...
I've slipped too many times to count on my stairs! Please pick me!
Oh how I would love to update my worn out hallway runner. This may also be the excuse I need to finally extend the bamboo in my entry way all the way down the stairs!
These are fabulous! Love the greens.
Can these be used outdoors? I have stairs outside that can get slippery when wet.
We just moved in and definitely need these!!
I would love to buy these for my aunt -- she has these beautiful wood stairs, but they're a bit slippery in socks, and I think these would do the trick without covering up all the wood.
my new house would look great in these!
i have an ugly black metal and plastic spiral staircase in my apartment. please help, cause it is lame-tastic.
why cannot I win anything?
I have ugly stairs I can't do anything about because I rent, but these would definitely pretty them up.
My new apartment has zero decoration. Lord I still have cinder block bookshelves... I am in need of any help possible.
Our office just moved into a cool new loft space. Our wonderful and hardworking office manager is stuck with a desk under the stairs - the metal stairs! Please help our office manager Wendy get a little peace and quiet!
cool...these look great!
So colorful!
My entrance stairs are dingy, and I am a renter. I need these! please?
I don't even know where to begin. Everything in my house is old, ugly and CHEAP. I cannot stand it one day longer. I have been looking at rugs as a great way to spruce up a room without having to redo everything in the room. These cute little rugs would be perfect.
did anybody think how unsafe it is? even with the rubber backing (which i checked, there is no indication of it) they can slid off the stair while you walking down and you will tumble down along all those pretty things. the carpet, runner or anything not properly attached to the stairs is a potential health hazard. injury just a step away.
I have had a hard time updating the look of my stairs without totally redoing them or blowing my budget. These could really make them pop.
We are finishing the attic to be a boat-cabin-like kiddie library/ relaxation place/ photo studio. The stairs to the attic are a total mess. Right now one can only go there on all 4s. It would be really nice to dress the steps up until we find it in ourselves to take them down and re-build them.
I recently inherited some vintage num chucks (spelling?), swords, ball and chain and other general war gear from my brother who passed away. With all of that violence the stairs sure could use some warmth!
those are awesome!
would LOVE to cover our stairs in something other than plastic!
these are fabulous!
We just moved into a new place. While my pup can climb the stairs, he's crashed a few times on the way down. This would make his life so much easier, and ours more colorful.
These are really nice, but at around $75 a tread, even if you win, you'd better have a really short staircase.
My stairs are bright purple. Normally I am all for bright colors, but I find the Barney-purple color rather ugly. I have had problems with painting stairs in the past, where the paint wears out quickly. Any suggestions for painting stairs?
These would be great for my basement stairs.
we call our staircase "the ninja steps". no one walks by undetected. these carpets might make it easier for the twins to sneak out at night!
I love the colors!
Perfect! I have a very old, stained beige runner on my otherwise beautiful staircase. These would be the ideal update for them.
If I won, I'd probably just use them as entrance/welcome rugs.
very cool.
these are so clever and beautiful!
wonderfully useful and they have style too!
I have always admired these beautiful rugs. But they're completely unaffordable for me. Here's to winning!
love these!
These are great for open stairs!
Our stairs are so gloomy and are such a wasteland. The carpet we stapled in ourselves has been stained by so many roomates and their animals. Recycling is kept on the landing andbags and bags of lentils. I only go down these horrible stairs when I need to do laundry. D:
I would love this!
Moved last Nov. into a pretty cool house, unfortunately the lady before us spend a lot of money on a railing and banister that don't match the architecture of the house at all. I will be ripping it out this summer and going oak on the stairs, these would help my 3 and 6 year old not to be slipping and sliding.
yes, i would really like to win this prize.
Well, this would be an amazing improvement to my old worn out indoor/outdoor covering on the stairs.
I love this idea!
We just finished our basement, but couldn't figure out a great solution for our stairs. They are really slippery as we ended up painting them. These would be great for us!
Wow, I've never seen these before. Would be a great gift for my parents' house!
my dilemma is that my stairs are carpeted and because they lead off my front entry, take in a lot of dirt. I would like to change it and these would be perfect
As a wannabe designer i have made so many costly mistakes trying to make our home look artsy yet modern. This would be perfect for my small staircase going down to the family room, so beautiful!
they are exactly what i've been looking for!
my stairs are in a hallway shared by many people - the hallway has a slight smell and i think it may be the carpet on the stairs. this would help me get rid of that smell!
My personal stairway decor challenge is pretty straightforward. I am in dire need of "something" or perhaps "anything". My stairs are old and well used, I dont even know where to begin.
Those are awesome! I'd have to pass them on to my mom, she decorated her stairway by falling down the stairs with a glass of red wine and pouring it all down the cream painted wall.... Hows that for decorating??
i just have to move on from the mono-chromatic rug look.
My husband and I are laying tile on the stairs in our home - what a job!
At some point in the past, owners of our house cut of the bull nose on the side of the steps. We're doing our best to reclaim what's left of the original wood stairs.
If Canadian entrants agree to pay shipping/duties, could you open the contests to us too?
my stairs are have decades' worth of layers of paint. i have felt too overwhelmed by the process of stripping the wood (b/c of fumes mainly) and i didn't want to just re-paint and add one more layer to the mix... these would be perfect!
I work in my dungeon ( I mean basement). And as lucky as I am to work from home, my walk down into the dungeon ( I mean basement) could be a lot cheerier with with Lava ALTO Steps! Orange is my favorite color. I even painted my cold cement basement floor bright orange!
I do not have a stairway but I would love to win this for my older brother in Texas who is fixing up his new ranch with his wife. ;-) Did I mention his birthday is coming!!! Thanks.
They are very stylish and would look great in my home!
My stairs are covered in ugly carpeting, and the they're right smack in the middle of the living room! Arrgh!
definitely could use some storage.
Our stairs are solid oak and beautiful, but our aging dog keeps slipping on them and we're afraid she'll get hurt. Add to that a baby on the way, and we need some stairtherapy. Most stair pads are so ugly -- these are great!
I have an ugly staircase.
Joanne
love all the colors!
We have stairs that the ceiling is very low in and at the bottom of the landing there's a small odd shaped wall. Can never figure out how to decorate nicely.
Great giveaway. Thanks for offering this.
NEVER put wallpaper. It gets old. I have a room full of wallpaper and have been delaying taking it off for years.
We moved in just under 2 years ago and still have old linoleum covered steps to cover. These are so different than the usual stair covers. I really like them.
We have a 200 year old farmhouse with steep irregularly spaced steps! I want to tear off the carpet and refinish the wood and do something!
I have stairs. They suck. If I had these things, my stairs would suck less.
I have stairs where I took of the carpet and painted the stairfronts with a beautiful black&white checker pattern with a quote going up the stairs...."The love of a family is life's greatest blessing" my problem is the tops are now slippery..we have a no sock rule right now
I was looking for a nice way to transition to hardwood flooring for stairs...this is great!
amiramurphy at gmail
i don't kkow where to start we could use this prize
Right now our stairs are stripped down to bare wood that is not finished or attractive. Thank you so much!
My stairs need to be prettified - lets just say the pets are not always friendly to the wood.
Have to admit that I'm in it for the prospect of a ebay gift certificate...
save me from paint and grip tape!
please pick me i need a rug!
Our 1883 Eastlake Victorian had the original woodwork with all the spindles, the original stained glass at the second landing and..........wait for it, it's worth it.........................
a plywood closet nailed into the sides so they could hang their coats.
Classy!
BTW. That was one of the first things to go!
I don't have stairs, but I can think of several other good uses for these.
my problem is the stairway is too out in the open
OK so I cleaned the stairs and re-freshed them (Bona - great product by the way), all by hand. Then I told everyone NO SHOES in the house anymore. First time around, my husband "slipped" down the stairs. I told him next time wear slippers. Needless to say, He wasn't amused. These would be handy cause I was wearing socks and almost slipped.
this is what i´ve been looking for!
Our stairway has a half-circle landing part way up, where my dog loves to be because he can see the front door, great room, into my office, and up the stairs (because of the railing and slats, we say he's "in jail"). This area gets dirty and furry very quickly. It's also a challenge sometimes to step over him with any grace.
these would be great for my new apt.........
it adds color to a normally undecorated space
Right now my stairs are bare.
I painted them but I would like to put some sort of cover on them.
These look like they would solve my challenge perfectly.
these are great! I've got a problem with always slipping on the wood!
The steps down to our garage are concrete, narrow and slick. We have installed grabbars, but the whole look could definitely use some improvement.
Please pick me! I've got stairs for days. . . ugly stairs that is.
These are super awesome and I went to the website to check them out more and discovered that the winning gift certificate will cover two stairs!
I'd love to win! I have children, pets and a 50 year old home. Help! Good luck to all!
My stairs are the scary, open kind. These would make them more inviting.
my stairway challenge is that my stairs are covered in ugly tan industrial carpeting (yep, i rent). would love to break up the tan-ness with these colorful mats!
i just painted our stairway walls, two-tone with a stripe in between
Help, my dog ate my carpet! Not joking. She ate (shredded) 1/2 the carpet on the stairs. I painted them, but some stair rugs would really do the trick.
Making sure everything is non-slip is my biggest concern.
Unfortunately design comes second to safety.
I'd like to jazz up the stairway a bit and this would do it.
hey apartment therapy,
have you lost weight?
replacing a horribly ugly carpet
My stairway decor challenge is having a sitting room 3 steps down from the master bedroom, which will be wood floored, and having a disabled cat who would likely become more so if I do not figure out a way to provide traction on the steps, as well as a tactile notice that stairs are present.... in an aesthetically pleasing way!!!!
These would look super cute on our victorian staircase and help create traction for out little one!
Our stairway is rather narrow and dingy, I can't do much about the narrow, but this would sure brighten it up some!
It is a basement stairway and it curves at the bottom.
I have open stairs and these would help an awful lot! I tend to trip when I'm going up and down my own darn stairs. What a pain -literally!
It looks like these will be decorative and help with safety. I can't even count how many times I have slipped on my stairs. Yes, I am a klutz.
20 years we still have plywood stairs...
someday, oak would be great, but
these gorgeous stair rugs would go a long way in making my stairs nice!
it is boring and it needs to be redone, I do not know what to do with it
I really could use a set of these for my stairs, for my two year old dog. My bed sits about 5 feet off the floor. She always jumps up on my bed. She has already hurt her front shoulder from jumping off our deck. The steps I got in the pet store, don't work well at all. These might cut down on her slipping off the steps. Thanks for the giveaway.
I just moved into my apartment (2 year lease) and it's all older wooden floors. I could really use a stylish set of things to lighten up the area and draw more of my friend's and family's attention towards instead of the marks and scuffs on the floor. :)
I have a stairway that could very much use these
"Wow!" These are the answer to my prayers! Our stairway is to the side of our front door entry way. The carpet on the steps has become quite dingy from the foot traffic of all three bedrooms being on the second level. We have tried steam cleaning with no results. These would be perfect to replace the awful looking carpet. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks,Cindi
My grass cloth wallpaper is coming down and it's a very high ceiling--I need help!
I live in a townhouse, and the entryway leads downstairs to the bedroom and upstairs to the living room. The problem is it is so boring, just stairs. I would love to make the entryway and stairs more inviting.
Really worn out was white, now gray carpet on the stairs. These look gorgeous
I actually live in a small one story apartment, but because I am vertically challenged I use a step stool to reach most of my tall cabinets. This is a great idea to make my boring stool stand out and fit in with the style of my home.
I have been searching for stair treads that are stylish with no luck. I hope I win, these are perfect!
i hope i win
My stairs can definitely do with something new.
I need this something awful
This would certainly liven up my steps.
I needz these! z0mg!
Pick me pick me!
We have concrete stairs at two of the entrances to our house, these would be perfect.
our stairs are ugly and brown and i always miss one cuz they're hard to see when the lights are out, cuz they blend in with the ugly brown carpet
We have 20 stairs...and we need something to make them more than the dull tan that they are...they are quite obviously in need of a 'makeover' THANKS for great contest!
I'm embarassed to say that I have taken a spill on my bare wood stairs. These trendy treads would come in handy. Thanks!
this would be great in my basement
with two kids and a dog, our decor is ... stains!
the only stairs i have are brick and they are old and dingy looking.
I have two older dogs and it's getting hard for them to walk down the hardwood stairs. I think this would be great to have for them.
we have hardwood stairs, but they are rather worn towart the center of each stair and I love to cover it, but part of the problem is that the stair curves part of the way up. I have also taken a tumble down the stairs because of wearing socks on slippery wood. These carpet blocks are great and would kill two birds with one stone.
My biggest stair design challenge is keeping the carpets that line the stairs clean. With two kids and a light carpet, dirt and stains are a huge problem.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I built my own stairs up to my loft bed and I need those to hide the ugly plywood. Yummy.
I am always worried about fallling! These would be great for the stairs.
The steps are wood.
Very cool.
I think the modern vibe to these is just the lift we need in our entryway. It's very stark and bland right now.
We're moving to a new home that has the ugliest staircase. I've been trying to think of a way to make them palatable and this product would do the trick. Pick me pleeease!
I wish I would have found these treads when I was looking a few months ago. I ended up with braided ones that I hate! They are so old fashioned looking. I would love to win so I could replace the ones I have. But at least I know that there are stylish treads available because this is what I was looking for originally. Why didn't I find them then? Oh well, live and learn.
My steps are wood and this would be great for them.
My steps are wood and these would help dress them up.
No steps
THANK YOU GOD BLSS
My stairway is just plain old boring white and gets dirty easily because of the kids.
I would be thrilled with a cool runner for our bedroom stairs, that are now bare and very slipper. We've both fallen down the stairs - a terrible way to start the day!
these would look great on our stairs - I like the gray shades
These are perfect for the stairs that go to our basesment. We're in the middle of refinishing it so we can have a family room down there.
ah.... is this my fairy godmother?
we moved in a year ago and have depleted funds. We left the stairs for last, they have been refinished, the banister stained and finished and now....the steps which are in main entry ( first thing you see) look forlorn and incomplete. HELP.
oh, and hubby is going to fall and crack his fool neck if we don't do something.
thanks for the chance!
We have cathedral ceilings so the wall against the stairs is very high! It is hard to decorate with wall area around the stairs.
stairs at the beach take beating from the sand. I need something durable as well as attractive
Yeah, my bamboo stairway is beautiful, but slippery. I'm surprised I haven't killed myself on them yet.
The back stairs of our apartment are gross painted wood and the landlord isn't too keen on redoing/finishing them. These would be a beautiful way to hide them...
Very pretty. The staircase you see when you enter my home is the ugliest part of the house. The banister is missing, the stairs are painted white and impossible to keep clean.
our stairs are just plain ugly, they could really use a sproossing up!
My house was previously owned by an elderly couple who put down rubber strips so that they would not slip....many hours were spent trying to get them up and not ruin the hardwoods....it didn't work:-(
So I am moving into this new second floor apartment so you have to climb up these really steep stairs before you even get up into my apartment, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE something like this
I'm a college student and it would be really really helpful
the stairs from my first floor to my second floor twist sharply around a corner... it's such a tight fit that I couldn't even get my mattress & box spring up them when I moved in
COOL PRIZE!
I have awful grey painted wood stairs to the basement. A set of runners would make them safer (my stairs can be slippery) and defintely better looking.
mine are just boring
Fresh designs -- I like them!
wow, these would be fantastic for the family room steps. so colorful and fun!
Need these for the bamboo steps... slippery...
transform the coldest part of my home into the cutest and fuzziest? count me in please!!
Our stairs have carpet that has seen better days (many, MANY years ago). It needs to be ripped up so we can have a fresh start.
My stairs are old and wooden. They need to be stained and painted. Great giveaway! Count me in. bebemiqui82(at)yahoo(dot)com
I am a renter and cannot paint my walls. Stair decorations would be an innovative way to add freshness and color to my very neutral walls.
We have a loft with a weird, enclosed staircase with half the stairs going one way, a landing, and then the other half of the stairs going the other way. I want to put stuff on the walls because it's so plain, but I feel like nothing really looks right.
Our stairs are pretty boring and basic. We do have one basket at the bottom, but it just has clutter in it.
Gross carpet from the 70's...definitely could use a stair makeover!
My stairs are old hardwood and have so many scuffs and scratches. I would really love to have these to cover the damage and make my stair look pretty again.
What a fun way to add a little color!
Boring. Need some oomph!
Our apartment is on the second floor, but the staircase is inside our apartment, not outside. So, you open the front door and all you see is....a staircase! It could definitely use some decor!
I live in an old house (over 100 years) and the staircase is very narrow and steep. It looks like a little tunnel and needs some excitement!
My stairs are pretty much naked so any kind of dressing up will do!
Have 2 sets of stairs and one has hideous wallpaper that just can't change right now. There is too much of it. Nothing looks good on it.
Our staiway needs to be closed in so that the upstairs and downstairs are separate living spaces.
oh! currently we have a rug on the stairs...that's not attached to anything at the top and someday soon somebody will probably slip on the loose bits and brain themselves...this looks like a nice alternative!
I love my wooden staircase, but it's sometimes slippery if the kids spill something going up or down them. This would be great.
The staircase is very narrow and extremely steep! Add in slippery and that makes them super dangerous! Thanks for such a useful giveaway!
We have 13 stairs . . .Oak . . .that lead to the basement. Sometimes they double as a shelf.
Our stairway runner was somewhat melted by our vaccuum. Replacement is a good option...
our stairway has no style
What a creative way to decorate your stairway...my stairway needs creativity!!
I have carpet on my stairway, but these covers would absolutely decorate and add life to the area.
I would comment...but I don't have a stairway :(
What a great idea!
Our stairway is small, there isn't much I can do with it. but the best thing I have done so far is when I painted the wall I painted the ceiling too. I can't stand a white ceiling.
I love these. They would be great help for me so I wouldn't have to crawl up the stairs with my fractured ankle. Thank you for offering these.
There a couple of problems to my stairway decor challenge. One, the previous owners carpeted over the hardwood, so the wood is going to need refinished :( Two, the stairs are very steep- something like these step rugs will be absolutely necessary for safety. This would be great to win, thanks for the chance!
These look very nice.
The stairs to our lower level are the only flooring surface that has not been redone in the last 5 years. The carpet that is there now was put down when we moved in 17 years ago. Now with 2 cats and 2 dogs you can imagine it's condition!! Somehow this area just seem to get forgotten, except when you have to walk up or down it. It really needs some freshening up and this product looks like it could do the trick.
We recently bought our first home and I am trying to figure out how to decorate the whole house! The stairway is just one of the many decorating obstacles that I will have to overcome in the next few months!! Thank you so much for this opportunity!! :)
mine are painted green a look awful :(
Our whole family would appreciate these on our stairs, including our black lab who sometimes slips a little on the naked wood!
13 stairs . . .Oak . . . sometimes double as a shelf.
My husband and I collect autographs so we line our staircase with our collection.
I would love to give these to my mom for her spiral staircase. My stepdad was supposed to make cool colored concrete tread inserts for her, but he moved out and never did. Right now she just has ugly carpet-wrapped wood that needs an update.
My steps are a catchall for anything that I am suppose to take to my bedroom. Right now there is a stack of Towels that need to go up.
I need help on the decor...and it definitely needs updated! These look great and would go so nicely on my stairs and would make it safer for my kids going up and down the stairs with socks on.
Oak stairs . . . sometimes double as a shelf.
this would be perfect in my house
Our stair are carpeted and they're gross. They were leftovered from the previous owners and we have yet to do anything. Winning this would be a start.
My bamboo stairs are all scratched up from my poor pooch clawing for traction! I hate stair runners. This is the perfect solution!
Ok, I don't have stairs but my mom does -- hardwood stairs made from old high school bleachers -- gorgeous and slippery. As she ages and her knee condition worsens and she refuses to slow down, I worry. She would love these.
oh MAN could we use these!
They're pretty. Pretty expensive. $950 & $650 for 12!
My stairs, unfortunately, double as a shelf for laundry that needs to be put away upstairs. Maybe these stylish steps would help spur my need to organize and put things away!
People slipping on the steps is our problem.
Ouch, those are expensive!
Sigh..my kids and hubby use it for a dumping ground.
These step rugs are so funky and fun! I would love them for my new apartment! :-)
no stairs but I could use a runner....
No staircase in our place!
Thanks :)
sounds great!
My son just moved into a new apartment. He sure could use some of these for his narrow stairs.
Lovely! My downstairs neighbors would be very happy!
Very Nice Thank You
My stairs are a hot mess I have to say. I have old, outdated 70s that are black wrought iron (egads) and even though we painted them white, they detract away from the rest of the living/kitchen area (as the wrought iron is open slats, you can see from our front door thru the living room into the kitchen). These cute little treads would allot to liven up the space, since you can see the open stair treads as well
would be handy on my ramp.
Our stairway is so boring, these would be perfect to really brighen them up and help them come alive.
I know it's gross, but my problem seems to be two old cats who seem to run to the stairs to puke.
I told you it was gross...
How cute! This would look so lovely on our wooden stairs.
It's hard to decorate on a limited budget.
beautiful for our beautiful (and dangerous) stairs. please, please.
oooh, pretty things for my staircase!
wonder how these would fare with a little nola mud?
I need something to help my house stand out. I'm doing the whole yard this year and trying to make things look better, however, I need something more. These would be amazing and it would help alot in the winter!!
ummm, antique :0)
