Southwest #1: Benjamin and Elizabeth's "Citrus Harmony"

fallcolors08-yellow.gifName: Benjamin Knowles and Elizabeth Robinson
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Type of Home: Condo

What inspired you to use color? We chose a contemporary palette of vibrant, citrus-inspired hues to contrast with the crisp whites and subdued natural textures of our mid-century modern condo. By limiting the palette to three distinct but analogous colors, we were able to define individual areas of interest while imbuing the space with an overall sense of harmony.

Color Tip: Using color to articulate a single wall/area can create an intimate environment within a larger space.
Colors Used: Valspar: Roman Orange
Olympic: Lime Green

What a great idea! I would have never thought of using citrus based colors together like that, and it really works. I'm a Phoenician too and in this environment bold colors are pretty much required. Citrus, which grows here quite well is such an appropriate choice.

Orange is usually not my favorite, but I think it looks good in moderation. I like the color combo here and the balance with neutrals.

What is that green paint color? I've been looking for a perfect bright green like that.

Sweet, these are the colors of my kitchen, along with a little aqua.

TrueTex, they say in the post that it is "Olympic: Lime Green".

this is really wonderful. my only issue is that i only see pretty much one area. that area is fabulous, but i'd like to see the bedroom, bathroom, or something. i also love the way you used lighting. that really makes it for me.

WOw.. at first i thought that much orange and green would be overkill - but then I saw the neutral stone/brick walls and it all balances out. My only thing is the yellow cabinets in the kitchen seem a little afterthought. But maybe I just don't like yellow.

Best one so far!

OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS!!!!
Not so much the green, but eh... whatever... I still love it!
I feel like there's only 1 or 2 rooms shown. No bedroom? Or bathroom? No vignettes?

Your house is great! Love the citrus colors and the exposed brick wall anchors the room perfectly. The one and only tiny little thing....some pillows on the couch would be a great addition for a softer feel...just my 2 cents...but love it as is!

I like all the bold color use with restraint. It is friendly and breezy. I really do like colors but I hate being suffocated by them, so this was a great entry in my opinion.
