Southwest #2: Georjeanna's "New Mexico Light"

What inspired you to use color? The New Mexico light. I came out here for graduate school and after I received my MFA in Painting in 2000. I stayed and created. Painting my in in a whole new light

 
 

Color Tip: Use the color palette that is a part of your soul. Something that when you see it every single day, makes you feel good and re-affirms who you are.
Colors Used: Monarch Wing Yellow, Jazzie Blue, Victory Red and Tomatillo Green

I guess I didn't see a rule that said it had to be the interior of your house. Although with creativity like that I definately want to see inside!

I love New Mexico and I love this house! It might not work in New York or Ohio or Missouri, but it fits NM perfectly! I would also love to see the inside--please do a house tour.

Is that color purple-blue kind of popular in the southwest? I just think it's kind of bold and out of place with the color palette I imagine for that area. I just looked at the Alejandra's baja entry as well, and don't really think of that color as being helpful. I guess it is outside my culture and I'm learning. I didn't even notice I wasn't looking at the inside the whole time. I guess murals and exterior features like fences and doorways are the color story here. Not sure why that wouldn't be ok.
