What inspired you to use color? Starting with neutral taupe walls and the white trim as my backdrop, I slip-covered my sofa and ottoman in a neutral off white duck. I wanted to be able to seasonally change the look of my home, and using bright coral and soft yellow throw pillows in an elegant shantung was key. The pillows can be changed at whim. The chocolate bamboo flooring, with white wool rugs in both the dining and living area anchored the narrow, small space. In addition, a piece of artwork from the Summer Olympics in Munich adds whimsy (and a reminder of precariousness of life) and additional color to the space. I wanted the color to flow from room to room, so the yellow is picked up again in the guest room and guest bath along with neutral walls. The guest room also has a hint of green, which is then picked up in the master bedroom. The kitchen color scheme incorporates the taupe color on the walls and glass backsplash and in the floor, which is taupe limestone. Here I’ve used a touch of blue, which incorporated by inclusion of three hand-made tiles from our visit to Arcosanti in Arizona. At the desk in the kitchen, the use of yellow in the desk lamp is once again added, coming full circle.

Welcome, everyone, to our

it's neutral, but done well. you used enough gradients & a few pops of color here & there.

The foot print is from Milton Glaser and was part of the Munich Olympics suite of prints that he was commissioned to do. This is one of the signed originals for track and field. Quirky but nice, and also holds great symbolic meaning to me in honor of the Israeli athletes who were killed in Munich.

The foot print is actually a limited edition poster done for the 1972 Olympics by artist Tom Wesselmann.

You're right about Wesselmann, however this one was printed and signed in 1970
Thanks for setting me straight!
