What inspired you to use color? I recently moved from Chicago and wanted color. Chicago is a very hi style city, Las Vegas is very "bling bling" and wanted to to bring that concept together with my favorite color, lavender. I didn't want the southwest palet of beige and creams. My Interior Designer took a leap by using different shades and textures of lavender, greys and white.
Color Tip: Don't be afraid to use color. Use colors that compliment your personal style and character.
Colors Used: None given.
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

it has a real sense of opulence and airiness. very refreshing.

I'm hoping to use a similar palette in my bedroom someday. Thanks for the inspiration. (And any hints on the paints you used?)

Very nice home. Well appointed and put together thoughtfully. Not very much color. I think it should be entered in a contest about style probably not color. It would get my vote there for sure.

Nice home, but is the contest open to people who use professional designers? Just asking.

yes, it is explicitly stated on the rules page.

elegant and feminine. mysterious and intriguing. calm and seductive. nicely done. what a difference from earlier "lavender" entry from another contestant.

the painting in the 4th picture is beautiful.
the designer thing doesn't really bother me in this case. i can see he did the bathrooms & the lighting (nice), but it doesn't look like he took over. the living room is nice & balanced, but add some of yourself to it. the bedroom colors are nice, but something about it doesn't seem balanced. the bed is dramatic, but the rest is maybe too subdued.
the black, cream, & violet are a really nice combo.

Very sophisticated...and those fabrics are so rich looking. Not really my style, but I have to admit, this looks really beautiful.

A designer did this? Was it the designer at Value City?

I think it's gross. Every inch of it repulses me.

I like the colors. I like the accessories and lighting-except the curtains-but I do not like the furniture. It is too heavy for my taste-too ornate I guess and the place is leaning towards looking like a nightclub.
