Bionaire EverFresh Air Exchange System: Window Mounted Air Filter

0003703310139_500X500.jpgWe're still in the honeymoon period with our IQAir HealthPro Plus, as it has proven to be an anti-allergen saviour in our apartment. But what if you don't have the room or money for a dedicated large unit like the IQAir? Maybe one of these window mounting EverFresh Air Exchange System might be a budget solution worth considering...

In reality the Bionaire EverFresh is not really a true air purifier, as it doesn't come equipped with a HEPA grade filter. Instead the EverFresh is primarily a filtering ventilation unit that allows for fresh air circulation. Paired with a true HEPA air purifier, you'd have your cake and eat it too, but by itself we wonder how much difference it would make for air quality by itself. The unit does remove humidity and adjusts the incoming air's temperature to match the interior, and we're liking the window mounting form factor (fits double-hung windows from 26 to 38" wide and measures about 24.5" in length, 12' width and a svelte 9" high).

Watch the video to get a short visual description of how the unit works (a non-specific 3D animation). And of note, the EverFresh has been discounted by 50% online for $99.99

Personally, I think I would rather breathe stale air than look at that thing.

it IS very ugly, but 99 bucks... not bad, at all.

we really need an exhaust fan in our bathroom to control humidity and i've been looking high and low to find a solar unit rather than route more electricity through the house so i got a bit excited about this. i thought maybe it was solar or ran on batteries and then we could use rechargeables because you can't see a cord, right? well they just don't have the cord in the image. nor do they mention it on the jardenstore site, not even in the bionaire video. so i read the manual - the darn thing needs to plug into an outlet. too bad. i was ready to buy it and put it in the top of our double hung bathroom window.

I agree that it is ugly but it works (surprisingly) well. I got mine for about $70 at heartlandamerica.com. Maybe the lower price will make someone feel better about investing in an absolutely hidious machine?

I can't say enough good things about this product. I had extreme fatigue and sinus problems due to a mold exposure problem. There was a foundation leak in the basement and I had mold remediation done but was still unable to breathe. I am unable to move so I had a top of the line bryan HRV installed. I was still stuffed up all the time so I purchased one of these bionaire units. Amazingly I can breathe again and the fatigue has mostly gone away. Heating and cooling pros say the way to deal with allergy problems in the house is to bring in more fresh air and filter the air. Using this along with a seperate HEPA based unit will cover both problems. Besides I think it looks kinda awesome but then again I like how machines look and prefer blank walls to decorated ones.
