If you've ever been inspired by an amazing room from an online magazine, one of Apartment Therapy's house tours or a friend's photo, then consider using that color palette in your own space. Here's a simple way to pull the colors out of a room to design your own space.

Here's a sneak peek of the master bathroom from the house tour that will be featured this Friday. We love the design of the bathroom, especially the color scheme. To capture the color details, we just uploaded the image to a free hosting site (like Photobucket), created and copied the link, pasted it into the generator's field and - voila - we now have her color palette. We used the Color Palette Generator that we spotted over at the lovely Creature Comforts blog. Want to see more house tours from Apartment Therapy? Click here to enjoy!

they may not be practical but they sure look great. I also adore the contrast between the very minimalist shower recess and the period feel of the rest of the room - normally a shower wouldn't in a space like that, but this is as invisible as it can be.

A color palette generator that generates the exact colors taken with a crappy digital camera? Wow, I was waiting for a program to come out that really pushed the boundaries of laziness and poor quality exhibited by so many "designers"/decorators in todays world. I suggest going out, buying some color books from a local paint store and learning the properties of color and how color reacts under different light and in different environments. Don't rely on a second rate photo, or web image, and a free computer program to tell you what color is being used. This is sad people! Knowledge, intuition and creativity are your keys to personal success in this industry. NOT some plug and play freeware!
