DishDrawer from Fisher&Paykel

dishdrawer 2.jpgWe have not used these DishDrawer dishwashers anywhere so we cant say they are great, but we can say that they look great. The idea of pulling open a drawer to load dishes sounds very cool.

dishdreawer 1.jpgWe also like that the two drawers allow for a more gentle cycle for fine crystal while heavy soiled pots and pans can get a good scrub. The website boasts that the DishDrawer uses "variable water pressures and a flow-through detergent dispenser with precise wash temperatures to deliver a superior wash", But in truth, we just dig the design.

Yay, New Zealand design! That aside, my bachelor sloth friend has a fabulous use for them. He has done away with kitchen cupboards & keeps one set of dirty dishes in one drawer, clean in the other & washes as nessecary..

Welcome to the world, guys; down here in NZ we've had these for YEARS. Best use of all: just alternating between drawers -- use clean from one, return dirty to other, wash; use clean from that, return to other, wash; etc. Now watch for F&P's square-edged steel Designer Series: http://www.fisherpaykel.co.nz/designerseries/designerseries_home.cfm

PS: I'm not Amber's bachelor sloth friend.
