Are you ready to Rumble? Disaster Radio

082007_radio.jpg

With all the earthquakes happening here at home and throughout the world, it's a great reminder that the time is NOW to get prepared. Unlike tornadoes and hurricanes, we don't get a warning or any time to run out and get supplies. We blogged some great earthquake kit tips after that 4.5 a couple weeks ago. Add to that this disaster radio as a convenient tool to have on hand in the event that the electricity goes out.

The radio has a built in rechargeable Ni-MH battery, can be powered by a hand crank, plugged into a wall or works off of 3 AAA batteries. In addition to an AM/FM radio it also has TV1 and TV2, VHF channels 2-13; NOAA weather, all 7 channels plus "Alert"; 3 LED light system with emergency flash and works as a cell phone charger.

And why not be prepared in style? It comes in the orange pictured or in camo or white.

I have one of these radios from eton, I LOVE IT! Mine is in my bathroom and I use it every morning to get my npr fix. The hand crank for power works great for about 10 minutes of radio at a time. I run mine on AAA batteries, only have to replace them once a year and my radio gets lots of use!
