Eclectrics™ All-Metal Appliances

Walk down the kitchen appliance aisles at most any retailer today and you'll find an assortment of products that seem resigned to be "good enough". But consumers today, weaned on designer shows, magazines and personalities, are now asking for better than "good enough", looking for home items that both work and fit well into their home decor.

Seems like the people at Hamilton Beach have been listening. The Eclectrics™ All-Metal Appliances comes in seven assorted colours, and sport a much more sophisticated design than previous offerings. You might have even seen them on episodes of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

We could see these working in most any kitchen decor, but personally love the apple and seabreeze colours. And although its unlikely we'll be trading our beloved and trustworthy KitchenAid mixer, nor do we need the drink mixer, toaster, or coffee maker at the moment, we could definitely see ourselves considering trading up for the apple of our eye.

DAMMIT! I JUST finished restocking my kitchen with new smaller appliances. If only I'd waited a couple weeks.

I've been adding red accents to my kitchen, and have the Hamilton Beach electric kettle & can opener in that gorgeous red. They look great! Added Umbra "Joey" paper towel holder and soap pump, also in red (with chrome) -- I love my red accents. Looking at this post makes me wish I needed more appliances, though!

Are these as good quality as Kitchen Aid?

Mel: I doubt they're of the same quality as KitchenAid, as Hamilton Beach seems to be aimed more to the mass consumer market, while KitchenAid is a bit more specialty retailer. The prices also reflect this; but it seems like this is a step forward for Hamilton Beach into that same market...it's too early to tell how well made and lasting this line is at this point.
