Guess The Film, Part 2: Hey, I Didn't Know You Acted

100709-poster01.jpgA few weeks ago we showed you a few ways to use film posters in your home and suggested that, rather than going with the usual suspects, why not decorate using the foreign version of your favorite flick? How about using something even more unique?...

Etsy retailer Droplet Studios creates custom posters based on the information and photos you supply. Although originally marketed as a gift for groomsmen, the posters can be designed to reflect the drama that is your life. After all, you do live in Hollywood.

It's a cute idea, but the execution isn't great.

Instead of paying someone to just click the posterize filter in Photoshop, you may as well just do the same with your Photobooth program if you have a Mac.

I think if you work in show biz, you'd be mocked endlessly. This is cute if you live in St. Paul.

My brother's friend had this done with a Sopranos theme for his July wedding. Its a cute idea, and the charactertures of the guys were pretty fun, but in the end, like most wedding thank you gifts, its just sitting around taking up space.

We did that for our wedding as our guest book. Here's a link (except we had a friend do it). Here's a link. My favorite part is the credits. My husband is a film producer and I work in TV, so it was fitting for us. The one above seems a bit more concert poster.

Cute idea! It's really difficult to find wedding related gifts that are memorable. The stuff on the rest of the shop is actually really cute too.

I had to get rid of most of my movie posters because they were oversize light box editions. le sigh. The ones that i did keep are unique and small. However, I love having the different country versions! I would love to curate my posters each month.
