Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday! On to 2007! We start this year off with Artwork! This month we will be touching upon resources and ideas for making, framing, showing, buying, or hanging artwork. We'd also love it if you would share with us pics of how you use, what kind, and where you put artwork in your home! Tag your flickr images with "apartmenttherapyla" or email us. If we post it on the main page, we'll even send you an AT t-shirt!

In the meantime, let's start by asking:

I like to buy directly from the artist. Obviously I go through a gallery if they are represented...

Likewise.. especially to support up and coming local artisans.

I purchased just recently two tree images from a co-worker also known artist who takes the most magnificent photos of still life. The trees are snow covered by a lake or pond in the Purchase area close to where we work. The images are breath taking to say the least. They also make up for the snowless winter we've been experiencing here in the hudson valley.
Please remember to support local artists!!!

I've purchased most of my art over the internet, through galleries with online sales, directly from artists, and ebay. So far, I haven't been disappointed.

I need to frame an enormous (4 feet x 6 feet) canvas movie poster. Where should I take it to be framed?
Is there a framer that specializes in large pieces?
Do framers deliver?
Thank you.
