So-Cal Fire Poster Project

atla030708-lafires01.jpgWe're a little disappointed we discovered this site so late in the game, but it hasn't deterred us from promoting what is a really cool cause. The So-Cal Fire Poster Project was organized to aids victims who are still recovering from the 2007 wildfires that burned across California from LA to Orange County all the way down to our neighbors in San Diego. Plenty more examples after the jump...

atla030708-lafires02.jpgWhat's really notable about the So-Cal Poster Project besides the excellent selection of artwork created specifically for the project is that 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Salvation Army, for the 2007 California Wildfire fund. It's truly a donation, but you get something beautiful back in return.

These are lovely...and a good cause. The CA State formed with matches is so mine...

Hmm. Using the concept of fire spreading in a match book/box seems not quite the best use of imagery...

But love the poster-as-medium and art-as-fundraiser concepts.

These are amazing -- making me all California-misty-eyed. But I'm sad because the bulb-sprout-love one isn't available.

Oh wait, I figured it out -- there are more pages, duh! But then when I actually clicked that poster it looked a little too Starbucks-inspirational with all the words in the roots. But I shall peruse for other California-love to put up in my home!
