Sometimes Madness is Wisdom holds an interesting mix of oddities, some of which will absolutely gross out the timid (at least they did us).
Stepping into this little boutique makes one wonder if a grown-up Wednesday Addams set up shop.
The place is full of a cute, sexy Goth-girl clothes, kid's stuff and Things for the home...some one's home .
The store is worth checking out like a freak show is worth checking out: It should be done at least once. There is some very cool revolving art and remember, it's the stores that think outside of the box that always seem to have the latest twist on things.
Oh, and they have a lot of dead animals in formaldehyde...So cute for by the bed!
I love this store! It's eclectic mix of beautiful clothing and antiques mixed with avante garde art and art books makes for an unequaled shopping experience in Los Angeles - sure it can be a bit peculiar but it's worth the weird factor and besides a frog in a jar isn't that skeery.
This fabulous shop-cum-gallery is simply one of the best places to browse and shop on the Eastside. Filled to its chandalier-draped ceiling with treasures including pickled animals, art books and reproduction vintage clothing; this is my favorite shop in LA by far!

Walking into the Store/Gallery, you might have the feeling you've stepped into a world where the Paris 1920's meets a Post-Modern carnival. There is also a few comfy places to sit and browse through the book section. I like it!

The opening for Carlos Batts :Fashionably Grotesque could not have been held at a better location. The surroundings of your store were perfect for the art on the walls. Erica Duchinsky's exhibit was great too. Thank you for the entertaining evening.
I love this store! Sometimes madness is wisdom is not just an oddities store, it is also a perfect store for all of your girlie needs, like pretty scented soaps and lotions, extra hot shoes, frilly panties, and velvet dresses. They also have a variety of books from educational to insprational, and fancy sets of vintage medical tools. They also have the best sales ladies by far, no snobs here! This store is not to be passed up!!!
Sometimes Madness is wisdom is like stepping into a dollhouse. It feels like home. One can relax in a cozy antique chair, pick up a book on art or photgraphy and gaze at the art on the walls. Don't forget to pet the house cat! Shoes , silk velvet clothing, and corsets oh my! A girls dream come true. Dead things in jars, glass eyeballs, and chadeliers are so inviting. The most fascinating is the girl behind the madness that has made this unique store a reality.
I could spend hours in this place. Oops.....
