The Gallery: 2006 California Biennial

The Orange County Museum of Art have selected 31 California artists whose artwork are included in the 2006 California Biennial. The artists featured incorporate many media and collectively present a vision that reflect today's "eclectic communites, cultures, and art movements." This thursday, artist Shana Lutker will discuss her installation in the 2006 California Biennial, as part of the "CA Biennial Free Thursdays."

"Free Thursday" evenings feature tours of the Biennial as well as gallery talks, lectures, performances, films, and video screenings by Biennial artists. Tours begin at 7pm and all other programs follow at 7:30pm. The 2006 California Biennial runs through December 31, 2006.

Just visited this exhibit this weekend - it's interesting, though not as good I think as the Beautiful Losers exhibit they had earlier this year. I like that every exhibit I have been to here always seems to have one or two artists that include take away posters as part of their piece. But a lot of good art in museums all around LA right now.
