All about the process. Nami Ito is a rising California artist that uses old techniques for her pieces. Her artwork is made using a traditional Japanese painting techinque involving an adhesive base mixed with powdered pigments, crushed seashell powder to form a wash, all on rice paper. The process is long and slow as each layer must dry before another can be put on, but the results are gorgeous.
