The Small Stakes Poster Prints

themsmallstakes_atla.jpg

The Small Stakes has designed indie show posters for many of my personal favourite musicians: Broken Social Scene, Feist, Stars, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. And for a very reasonable price, you can nab some of these graphic beauties to embellish those unadorned, emo-drab walls that are crying out for some attention. Even if you don't know any of the bands, the restrained and subtle colour palettes of the prints would do nicely to compliment almost any interior; they all stand on their own as just exemplary works of modern graphic design. A selection of posters, past and present, here (order quick...they sell out).

I love a lot of these but I just can't see having them in my place if I don't know anything about the band. Therefore, I've been trying out new music in part because of these kinds of posters that I see.

I have a couple of poster from here. Collecting silkscreens has become such a thing for us. With a very few exceptions, we only collect silkscreen prints (therefore mostly posters) of bands we love, else I am sure we'd be broke and into our third portfolio for storage.

I still remember the first poster we bought, was the Built To Spill (Rock em Sock em) one from Jeff Kleinsmith of Patent Pending Design.

Our latest was free when we went to a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah concert. Benefit of early arrival to a concert, snagging the posters the band puts up before someone else does! It's the cute robot poster here

I have the Ben Gibbard poster that they made (cheaper at the show, of course) but it's a great poster. Really nice thick paper. :)
