Austin History Center
Austin

100108austinhistory-01.jpg We posted about older home issues last week, and many of you chimed in with issues that have affected your own older structures. One of the issues on our list was discovering just how old your home is, and learning about its history...

100108austinhistory-02.jpg In Austin, we have the pleasure of having the Austin History Center. Filled to the brim with old documents, photographs and knowledged historians, it's surely the first stop to go to find out about your older and historical home. The bonus part is getting to find out about your neighborhood also! You'll be able to discover what businesses or structures used to be in your community and really help add knowledge and value to your home.

While at the Austin History Center, make sure to notice the great architecture in the building it's housed in. We just loved the great molding and color pallete we saw. Quite inspirational!

Have ideas of where to go to find out more information about older homes in a city other than Austin? Let us know!
