With June's Outdoors month coming to a close here on Apartment Therapy, we'd like to share one last spot to gain inspiration from for your own outdoor spaces. Wildseed Farms isn't in Austin (it's located about an hour away in Fredericksburg, Texas) but it's such a favorite place of ours we'd still like to share it!
We've briefly mentioned Wildseed Farms in a post before, way back when we posted about the abundance of wildflowers here in Texas. We think it's worth mentioning that along with gorgeous fields of wildflowers to view, Wildseed Farms offers a lot more.
Along with the beautiful meadows to stroll around for inspiration, Wildseed Farms also features one of the largest pottery and plant nurseries in Central Texas. You can purchase wildflower seeds to plant in your own outdoor spaces from their large variety available. You can get a little refreshment from the Texas heat at their Brewbonnet Biergarten. Enjoy an enclosed butterfly garden and learn about native plants that will attract butterflies in our favorite: the Butterfly Haus.
Live in Texas and have made a trip to Wildseed Farms? What did you think? Do you have local wildflowers incorporated into your own outdoor space? Tell us about it!

I grew up in Dallas and now live in Southern California.
My parent's retired to a nice place in the Hill Country not too far from Wildseed Farms. Whenever I visit them I ask them to take me there.
How many plant nurseries have a wine store and tastings along with a large selection of local Texas foodstuffs? The fields of wildflowers aren't bad to look at either. Not too mention the plants, pots and other gardening equipment they sell.
If you do visit the Wildseed Farm don't forget to tour some of the numerous wineries in the area and to stop in for a cold Shiner Bock in Luckenbach.

I'm a guerilla gardner and I do use native California wildflower seeds to make my seed bombs.
My source for seeds is below. They offer free shipping on orders over $30.

I've been there and it's definitely worth visiting if you enjoy gardening. Another inspirational place, not too far away (relatively speaking) is the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in the Austin area.
