Look: Custom Grill Work Doors!
Austin

090908susanwallace-03.jpg Although we loved nearly every part of Greg and Laura's beautiful Austin home, we were particularly blown away by what they considered to be their biggest indulgence: the custom made doors by local artist Susan Wallace. More information about this metal master after the jump!

090908susanwallace-01.jpg Austin Artist Susan Wallace makes beautiful custom metal grill work doors that add instant interest and personality to a home's exterior! Her doors range from gorgeous organic forms to beautiful geometric shapes! Comprised mostly of aluminum, Susan works closely with clients to discover the perfect forms for their projects. Not limiting herself to just doors, Susan also creates screens, signage, fences, railings, mailboxes and awnings! You can even see this local artist's work at the University of Texas! We love the uniqueness that Susan's work brings to the home. With her dedication to listening to client's needs, we're sure she could help you create the perfect project for your home!

Ooh... nice. In SF, every other house has a gate, it seems like. It's nice to occasionally see some good looking ones instead of standard ugly security gates.

For anyone in SF, my friend, Ron Lester, does beautiful metal work: www.ironmaverick.com. One day I'll be able to commission something from him!

These doors are really pretty, I'd love to see window screens. They'd throw the shadows of the design and fill the room with the pattern.
