These soft and fuzzy versions of the musical instrument are Guitar City Knits, the brain child of Sarah Stollak, a crafter with over ten years in knitting experience. Created mostly for fun, these knitted guitars could easily be added to a music-lover's art collection as wall decor or a tablescape---without having to invest in the real things! We love the possibility of getting to choose your own color combinations, too. We think a neat and very modern wall composition could even be made with a series of these soft guitars all in a monocramatic color scheme! And being that the knitter is also in a band, we know these craftier versions would be accurately depicted!
What do you think about these knitted guitars? Silly or a hip way to add texture to a space? Let us know!
Even *I'm* starting to feel bad for Austin, with all the "Look! Austin! We're quirky!" posts.

Beyond silly. This falls into "clockwork orange" territory.
I'm also sort of irked by the "without the expense of a real guitar" comment -- as though the only reason to purchase a guitar would be an aesthetic one. Ew.

Niche market item. It's too novel for most people and unrelated to most general aesthetics, but this is neat for people who really like guitars and everything that represents a guitar or music, which unfortunately tends to go into the overdoes-it category. Talent-wise, nice product and unique, bordering on so tacky it's cool (sorry Austin!). Business-wise, I hope she makes a lot of other types of stuff to sell.

Why do the Austin posts fall under Los Angeles?
Maybe if Austin had it's own category (and possibly other southern cities) there wouldn't be such a backlash against it.
Don't worry people, there's enough love to go around.

Why are all the crafts featured so ugly and inept? It's possible to make things by hand that are wonderful, beautiful and useful.

If you could play them, then this would be worth posting about.
