Dining tables, countertops and end tables can all benefit from the aesthetics of interior plants, but what about other unique spots in your home? I uncovered a few creative ways to display plants during a visit to a local store. Learn more after the jump!

080208intpotplaceidea-03.jpg I was so tickled to find plants in these sorts of pots! What a cute and countertop space saving way to add plants to a kitchen. Placing plants in drawers can make a furniture piece seem more interactive in a space and look great! And I love the idea of using an old vintage chair as a plant display! I discovered these inspirational ideas at Austin's local store Happiness. Do you have any creative ideas for displaying plants of your own?

I mean, this isn't a big deal to me. It's a plant. It goes where you put it. A chair? A drawer? C'mon..... surely more brilliant ideas have been had.

Couldn't disagree more. Finding better ways to display plants other than the typical terra-cotta pot is awesome. We have plants growing in a bar sink from an old punk bar that closed years ago.
Keep up the good work!

"Placing plants in drawers can make a furniture piece seem more interactive in a space "

I'm confused by this. Isn't most furniture "interactive", especially if it has drawers? Is everything in Austin shoved into tin cans, old cars, and outdoor toilets?

I like the ladle, but even succulents need water once in a while.

you guys don't get it!

i totally understand what you mean by 'interactive'. never mind the boo-ers.

i've just always hated the plant on a chair look.

I get it , I just think it's ugly. Austin's all about the uninspired.

OK people. This is the scoop on Austin.

"Is everything in Austin shoved into tin cans, old cars, and outdoor toilets?"

Answer: YES.

This damn aesthetic is so played out in Austin it isn't funny.

Actually, the funny thing is, the people that work in these places make them unbearable places to shop. If you don't have huge amounts of tattoos and a porkpie hat, don't bother going into them.

You'll be treated like shit.

Ok, with all the hate going on I'm almost afraid to post this, but I'll do it anyway. And I like these ideas, and I may use them. I've been looking for ways to grow plants on walls (I don't have lots of space) and may try some sideways baskets.

This planting is about 2" high.
