Roundup: Sleeper Sofas
Austin

111708guestbeds-03.jpg We're what, T-minus ten days until the kick-off of the holiday season? If you've got some holiday guests looming on the horizon and have been wondering where you were going to put them all (no, no one likes sleeping on an air mattress) we've rounded up 5 sleeper sofas that look as good folded up as they do folded into a bed. More after the jump!

One Night Stand from Blu Dot $1799 While the price tag on this one is expensive, you have to admit that at first glance it doesn't give the impression of a sleeper sofa at all. Available in red and gray, it's a modern answer to that question we're always asking "where can I find a good-looking sofa bed?".

111708guestbeds-02.jpg GRANKULLA/ MASSUM from Ikea $128. Not quite an entire sofa and extraordinarily affordable, this product solves your problem of needing extra seating and a guest bed all in one.

111708guestbeds-04.jpg Sofa Bed from BoConcept $949 Also a sneaky sofa bed option. Great-looking modern couch during the day, and at night the back folds down to create a nice guest bed.

111708guestbeds-05.jpg Ottoman with sleeping function from BoConcept $569 While pricey, this is perhaps BoConcept's secret weapon in the battle for small space options. Incredibly, a small cot fits inside the ottoman that with a cover can also be used as extra seating or a coffee table. The choice of the frame cover fabric can affect the price.

111708guestbeds-01.jpg IKEA PS HÅVET from Ikea $499 So, this one's pretty obviously a sofa bed, but it is affordable, and does complete the mission of providing a guest bed for all of your holiday visitors.

I see only two Sleeper sofas - two futons and a fold-out cot.

I was really hoping for more interesting sofa-bed solutions that haven't been covered here before.

My vote would be for CB2's Flex sofa in gray (it also comes in a light olive shade) at $999. It looks sleek and contemporary and folds down into a good-size double bed (unlike many which claim to fit two people but you'd have to make that two miniature people). this was covered better on at 4 years ago:

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/competitions/sleeper-sofa-competition-final-day-very-close-race-000827

since then there have been a lot of new designs of which the bludot and boconcept are two. inflatable technology improvements have also made sofabeds much more comfortable, not to mention beds in bags.

we get alot of visitors. we have the dwr sliding sofa (which apparently has gone up over 50% in price since we bought it with a free cover on sale 5 years ago), a murphy bed in the office, and aero bed in the closet. all work great. i have slept on the aero for 10 days without back problems.

We have the LYCKSELE HÅVET sofa bed from IKEA.

Although not the most exciting of all designs, at $349, it is very practical. Space-saving and compact, plus you can change the cover (also from IKEA). Havet pops out to a bed in a snap. The mattress we purchased is comfy, and the best part is no "middle back bar" as with some sofa beds.

I'm all about the DWR Twilight sofa. We've had ours for almost 3 years now and LOVE it. Our guests agree. WELL worth the price.

The sofa sleepers do come in handy as guest bedding. I really like the sofas here:
