Suitcases: Not Just for Travel!
Austin

072309suitcase-03.jpg Due to the travel theme for this month here on Apartment Therapy, we've seen a lot of great suitcase-related posts, like revamping vintage suitcases, suitcase decor on Flickr, cabinets made from suitcases and even a suitcase table. So when we came across Jennifer Perkins' own blog post about suitcases, we had to share!

072309suitcase-02.jpg You probably remember Jennifer Perkins from her house tour, the post about her craft book or the post about fry basket planters. Well, perhaps she too has been bitten by the travel bug, because she did a great post about suitcase decor on her blog earlier this month. Focusing specifically on great suitcase conversions, you'll want to follow the link for ideas on how to turn your old suitcases into dog beds, medicine cabinets, furniture and more!

Do you have any awesome suitcase conversions of your own? Let us know!

These are GREAT! I LOVE the weapon cases! I started using vintage suit cases as a canvas also... they make travel alot more fun and colorful!

I hope NO ONE takes that dog-bed decorating advice seriously. That is a ridiculous idea, one that could injure a pet should that top fall down (due to a little breeze in the room or even the movement of the dog rolling over).

Hmm. Getting closed inside of a suitcase for a bit doesn't seem like it woud be deadly, even for the most delicate pet...also, there's the option of removing the lid!

I like the really old ones, but not the injection molded Samsonite stuff. None of these uses appeal to me, but I can see the chairs in a retail space.

I don't know if dogs have shins. But if they do, I bet this little guy has bumped his too many times to count getting in and out of his dumb suitcase bed.

I happen to think the doggie suitcase bag is brilliant st@cy. of course I share my life with a jack russel who jumps everywhere so bumping shins is never a problem.

thankyou Adrienne for the wonderful suggestion. I have an old vintage case that is perfect for my puppy!
