We're in Houston, and we've been using stormpulse.com quite a bit. It's a pretty cool site.

And of course, we can't find a tv station that isn't covering the storm.

Since they're the most accurate, I usually watch the cows huddle in the field to clue me in on when bad weather is approaching. When I'm not on the farm I use weather.com.

When I go back home, I use the Weather Channel or weather.com.

I am almost always by my laptop, so I get weather.com updates on my desktop. It's a pretty useful tool.

I look out the window...
...and in SF, it's usually foggy.

I have a handheld weather alert radio. Comes in handy here in "tornado alley."

Hey ehat! I'm in Katy, what part of Houston are you in? Had any power outages yet? We had one so far, but it came right back on. We're trying to freeze ourselves out with the AC right now in case the power goes out for good!

Honestly, I don't keep up with the weather much. I usually get it listening to my morning show on the commute into work, otherwise it's looking out the window or word of mouth. I have flipped the news (which is basically 24/7 right now on local stations) on a couple times, but otherwise I'm just watching out my window. Ever since a run-in with a tornado about 10 years ago, I think I just prefer to avoid bad news about the weather cuz it makes me really anxious. It's easier not to think about it and que sera, sera.

I usually just check the weather on chron.com (the houston paper). Right now I've just been watching the local news and sometimes CNN with the hurricane and all.

I'm in Montrose..no power outages yet but lots of wind. Good luck to everyone in Texas!

I just login to the NOAA site and get the same information that your local weather forecaster gets, at the same time that they get it.

Ditto on the weather alert radio. Great tool. Sounds an alarm and let's you know the kind of threat with warnings on each county and total coverage of winds, rain, floods etc.

I usually check Environment Canada website for the local forecast. If a major weather event is happening, I'll check the local tv or radio news. Otherwise I just look outside.
