41208-Edit04.jpgWhat do you get when an ex editor of Australian Vogue Living and a prominent fashion retailer partner up in business? A whimsical home wares and furniture collection based around mixing vintage pieces to create unexpected results. What we particularly like about Edit is their playful approach. There are some great ideas sure to inspire thrift store addicts wishing to give new life to vintage items. More images and ideas after the jump.

41208-Edit03.jpgWe like the mix of luxe and thrift, like these book-based lamps. As in fashion, it’s important to mix some new / higher end pieces with your vintage to avoid looking like a Salvation Army store.41208-Edit02.jpgThe above candle votives are made from different pieces of vintage glassware stacked on top of each other. The lamps follow the same idea, stacking glass bowls with other ceramics and mixing them with new lamp shades. You could DIY this concept using glass specific glue. 41208-Edit05.jpgSharyn Storrier Lyneham and Belinda Seper are the creative pair behind Edit. In Sharyn’s words Edit is ‘decoration without explanation’. We kind of love the idea of just doing something for the joy of it – like the re-upholstered chairs in yellow and black & white stripe. Pure fun. It looks like the range is only available through their Sydney showroom, so if you’re in the area check it out.

I love the teal blue in the first images. It's got a seaside quality, while still being sophisticated.
