The Wheatsheaf House, Daylesford
Victoria

When we came across the Wheatsheaf House on Desire To Inspire we were immediately struck by the dramatic design. But it was also a sad reminder of all the beautiful bushland recently lost in the Victorian bushfires, so we thought we’d share this to show our overseas friends the strangely eerie yet calm Australian bushland that inspires many people to build weekend escapes – though not all as out there as this one. More images below.

The Wheatsheaf House, just outside Daylesford, was designed by Jesse Judd. It is a mix of steel, laminated glass and plywood. The outside deck looks like the best place in the world to read the weekend papers while listening to bell birds…..ah we can dream.

i personally don't feel very comfortable in a house with a slanted roof! and i think it is bad feng shui as well (not that everyone cares)

its very sleek and stylish though this house.

A forest is burning south of this house, we could see the smoke from our town 40 minutes away. Day of total fire ban today, hoping they can control the fire.
