We love a bit of art in everyday life, and we also love seeing Aussie companies showing their wares to the larger world, so with that in mind we present Third Drawer Down. Majoring in tea towels, but also branching out into pillow cases and aprons, Third Drawer Down aim to promote local and international artists work via everyday house hold linen.

The artists they collaborate with create whimsical illustrations that lift the tea towel beyond dish rag status. Their website even offers instructions here, on how to stretch a tea towel like canvas on a frame, if you want to use it for wall art. The tea towels are screen printed on 100% linen, in limited editions and can be bought from their online store – they do international postage. Third Drawer Down are currently exhibiting at the New York International Gift Fair, at booth 3983 Accent on Design, till 21 August.

My problem with nice tea towels is that I'm always afraid to use them. The pillowcases, on the other hand, are a fun idea.

Yagh! These freak me the hell out. I'm glad others like them, but I'm creeped out.

interesting concept. the one in the top right corner with the bearded gentleman and birds reminds me of an episode of "Family Guy".
