Flat Pack Love: Flat Jack
Melbourne

231008-FlatJack-01.jpgThere is something very appealing about the idea of flat pack furniture. Maybe because it brings out the latent puzzle enthusiast in us or it could be that it allows us to pretend we actually ‘made’ something. Sure frustrating Ikea experiences can put a damper on the whole flat pack thing, but when it works it feels so, functional. So we were rather turned on when we found this cute stop motion clip demonstrating the Flat Jack bookcase’s transformation – check it out after the jump.

The Flat Jack is made from X-board which is 100% post-consumer paper waste and can have custom graphics printed on it. Designer Ross Gardam recently won the Living Edge this environmentally aware product.

While it's a clever design, call me a Traditionalist - because I'd rather have wood.

This would be great for my kids. No sharp corners, no risk of heavy furniture falling on them. Paper cuts, however...
