Flock off your painted walls
Melbourne

082008flock01.jpgIn our books flock wallpaper is the new black. It’s great to look at, divine to touch and we’re seeing it pop up everywhere so we’ve gathered up a few of our favourites.

The above silhouette wallpaper is by Osborne & Little and to the right is braille wallpaper by Ilias. We’re especially excited about the braille as each panel comes with a 7.5mm unprinted gap per side so it keeps its readability when hung. The below bold patterns are all from Graham Brown.082008flock02.jpgThe advantage to buying a current range is that if anything happens to go wrong during the installation then you can always purchase more. However, you run the risk of being twinsies if someone else you know happens to be just as design savvy as you are. Luckily, you can still get your hands on some vintage flock wallpaper as seen below.

I'm not sure I'd want my wallpaper to entice people to put their greasy grimers on it. And does dust stick to the fuzzies?

I like the patterns though, especially the aqua/brown.

I have always wondered how well the "fuzzies" stood up to the goop and drippage of the wallpaper paste. As I have recently experienced, wallpapering is a hella messy procedure.

It's so funny to me how fashion and design always repeats itself! I remember flocked wallpaper from my early childhood in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
