Inspiration: Eclectic Living
Sydney

021008-EclecticApart-01.jpgMany of the interiors featured on AT are minimalist at heart, so when we came across this vintage-eclectic home, we thought it would provide an interesting contrast for inspiration. It belongs to a Sydney couple who own a shop called DavidmetNicole. They’ve mixed antique furniture with collected objects to create a grungy sort of elegance. There a lots of minimal effort ideas in here that create big impact, like these customised paper lanterns. More below.

The paper lanterns have been very simply transformed by tying black ribbon to the bases and hung at different levels. Also check out the photographs escaping from the large gilded frame. This fun idea could be utilised for an inspiration wall.
021008-EclecticApart-02.jpgThe DIY shoe rack using an old ladder adds industrial charm. Check out the lamp attached to the top of it.

021008-EclecticApart-03.jpgDraped fabric above the bed creates drama and a vintage romantic feel.

021008-EclecticApart-04.jpgWe like how the draped fabric and mirrored emblem transform this doorway into a grand entrance.

021008-EclecticApart-05.jpgCandles in the fire place are a quirky idea in place of real fires. You could vary it with by using a couple of large candles or play with the colours to suit your space.

the bed looks cool. not sure about the mantel and fireplace - a little cluttered for my tastes, but I can see how it works.
