Today was a beautiful 26°C in Melbourne (that’s 78°F), so apologies to those in the Northern Hemisphere looking forward to the cool season, but we’ve got some more summer interior inspiration for those down under eagerly awaiting the sun. Our purchase of the July issue of Spanish AD was based purely on this awesome wall mural. A mural makes a big personal statement within a living space and while we like the idea, we’re undecided on the longevity of it.

The magazine is all in Spanish, so we could only figure out that the villa belongs to Jordi Labanda, an illustrator whose work you’d recognise from Wallpaper*. We love the laidback, casual-minimal vibe of this place. The mural style and colour fits in perfectly. Have you commission or done a DIY mural in your home? How did you decide what you wanted and do you still love it?

Rather off topic, but...
I hate it when people draw breasts like that. I (unfortunately) have very large breasts and, trust me, they never look like that. Not even under water! And for having a big bust I have rather perky girls. But they still don't look like that!

Though to be more on topic: If it's a hand painted mural, it doesn't matter if will get dated. Paint white over it and paint a new, more in-the-times mural! Just take pictures first.

So the magazine is from Melbourne or just the weather report?
