Look: David Met Nicole
Sydney

102408david01.jpgWhile browsing through David Met Nicole's website, we realised almost everything we saw– we wanted. With amazing one off furniture like the Wingback Chesterfield with vintage English bus roll as seen above and an amazing chandelier made from a 1920’s wrought iron drying rack and scientific evaporation flasks on every prong as seen below…

102408david02.jpg102808david03.jpg102408david04.jpgWe prefer the bus roll Chesterfield over the Tattooed one but it is an interesting choice all the same. Married couple David and Nicole source their materials from all over the world and have so many other great objects listed over at their website. Everything on this site is just soooo expensive...

But I really love the bus rool armchair, why is it that I fall in love with anything that has vintage printed text or numbers on it?

yeah, the prices in the store are quite steep. i like going there to get ideas then looking for similar items on ebay, and if i can't find it then buying from them occasionally.

Also the store is DavidMetNicole with the words run together.

Very overpriced; I think a lot of that is due to the hype the store has received in Australian shelter magazines. Seems like there isn't a stylist in the country who can plan a shoot without DMN's goods.

Like a previous poster said, it's definitely an "IDEAS ONLY" store for me!

(And yes, a bit odd for the author not to get the name of the store right...)

Actually, their prices aren't as bad as I was expecting from some of the previous comments. $8K for a custom sofa is on a par with many places, and less than you'd pay for anything from Space or Format. Even their Letters are reasonably priced compared to some.

Why you'd pay $8K for a Chesterfield, or even $800 is a different story.

If our Sydney friends really want to experience insane pricing, albeit with a Gallic tinge, check out Ici et La:

Daniel Poitiers - "Bus Rool" is how they would pronounce it I'm sure.
