At last weekends Melbourne Design Market, the stand for KeepCup was buzzing. With their tables stacked high with reusable coffee cups in a small number of different colour combos and sizes - we couldn’t wait to test them out. We were impressed with how much thought had gone into designing this cup, see more below the jump...
The KeepCup is the only reusable coffee cup we’ve come across that is the same size as a disposable cup. Initially we were concerned that its lack of insulation would result in the contents turning cold ahead of consumption - after rigorous testing we are both shocked and stunned to report that coffee stays not warm, but hot in this cup for up to half and hour. The cup has a silicone band with a variety of coffee options for you to highlight your preferences so their is never any confusion with your order. Their website also has this fun calculator to help you work out how using the KeepCup will reduce your impact on the environment. The only problem we’ve had with it is that when there is hot coffee in the cup, the silicon band expands and can slide down the cup. Other than that this is a great product and we’ll definitely be buying a couple more for those at the office. KeepCup are priced between AU$7.80 and AU$8.20 and offer international postage, more info at their website.

There is also the DCI "I am not a paper cup" Cup. Its dishwasher and microwave safe with a silicone lid. You can get it on Amazon for $13. It's also available at lots of online stores like uncommongoods.com as well as at Urban Outfitters.

stefanielutz ~ I was jsut going to post a link for the "I'm not a paper cup" also. You beat me to it. I have also seen them sold at the container store.
I do like the lid on the Aussie one better though. Yet it's not worth paying the exchange rate & the international shipping rate when you can basically get the same one here in the states.

I wish someone would design a reusable silicon lid for a standard coffee mug...
Surely that would be more ecofriendly to use all those mugs that you've accumulated over the years...

I like that you'll be "defiantly" buying it. :-) Defy society's pressures for us to all consume and destroy!

I love AT and I'm sorry for being anal, but I hate that you guys post stuff on the site with so many typos....

nytenglee--the coffee maker is a Bodum Santos vacuum coffee maker. We've had one for about a year. It makes delicious coffee, but does occasionally clog. It also takes a bit longer than other methods. That said, we use it faithfully for the consistently round, non-burnt flavor of our coffee. It's not easy to find at retailers, but you can order it on the Bodum website.

I guess this is OK if you want to have something with you for coffee shop orders, but I prefer bringing brewed-at-home coffee with me in my Nissan insulated thermos. It is sleek, lightweight, made of steel, and keeps beverages hot for almost the entire workday (6-7 hours).

This is the second post I've read today that needed additional proofreading to fix multiple problems: "Defiantly", an/and, there/there, is/are.
Sadly, I've only read two posts today.

I take a large travel mug to work every day. I'm not sure this would hold enough coffee to take me through the morning hours. They ARE really cute though!
