Look! Tree Decorations
Melbourne

No, these are not a wacky Australian native plant growth, rather they are crocheted wool brooch’s from a Canberra based Etsy seller. What excited us however, was the potential for DIY creativity in decorating the garden. Think creative alternatives to balloons and hanging lanterns in trees for you next garden soiree.

The lace covered tree trunk, curtesy of The Design Files, is another novel idea. You could do something simpler by wrapping ribbon around branches to create a striped look. For more whimsical inspiration look at the amazing work of Tim Walker, a UK based fashion photographer who does beautiful set design.

They're not a wacky plant growth, but they certainly are wacky!

That's one way to ruin a tree.

This should only be done to openly gay trees.

I've never seen anything quite like these crocheted wool brooches for a branch. Marvelous!

Hey kids, leave those trees alone! seriously, nature is far more beautiful than any doo-dad and what-not that people could add to it.

That first photo is mine. Thanks for the link to my Etsy shop, but perhaps the author of this article could have actually attributed it to the photographer, especially given the attribution conditions of the copyright on this photo. http://www.flickr.com/photos/quiltingmick/2742742525/in/set-72157606606049269/

And by the way, no trees were harmed in this photo. It was merely for a photo shoot and the brooches were tied on to crabapple branches for a total of 10 minutes.

Cheers
Michelle
