With a footprint of only 3 square meters [that’s just over 30 square feet] this 2 storey copper clad building is set in the middle of sheep station in central NSW. Brilliantly, the cladding of the building on the ground level opens up to reveal glass windows with panoramic views for hundreds of kilometers. See more after the jump…
When the cladding is closed it protects the structure from the elements, particularly bushfires. Inside the building is a living area with a slow combustion stove, small kitchen and bedroom. There is an outhouse a short walk from the main building. The house is titled “Permanent Camping”- an interesting and unique alternative to camping. Looks to me like it is 3 meters square (about 9 feet per side, or 81 square feet), not 3 square meters (about 5.5 feet by 5.5 feet, not even big enough for a bed).
Bigger than you say, but nice.

Simple, beautiful, elegant ... and often would not be allowed to be built in most areas in the US, unfortunately.

Beautiful! Also, the cladding is genius. I've always wondered what we'll do with our big glass windows on our vacation home when we're not there.
