Rebound Notebooks
Melbourne

070808reboundbook_02.jpgRebound recycle reading material really nicely – sorry, couldn’t resist the alliteration. The makers of Rebound Books are newly married husband and wife team Ben Mason and Natalie Crupi who decided to blend their love of old books and creative writing together with these unique spiral bound notebooks.

070808reboundbook_01.jpgThe pair take covers of old hardbacks and re-fashion them into these charming scribble books. We think they’re just the thing for jotting down design notes, inspiration and random thoughts. They sell online for AUD$30-35 or AUD$46 for international including postage.

I've been ordering rebound hardback journals from ex libris anonymous for year. http://www.bookjournals.com/ ~$13 (US) for a journal. I've filled Volumes 2-5 of the "The Book of Popular Science".

I can never use expensive, arty notebooks for random lists and jottings because it seems like a waste. I mean, are you supposed to preserve these books for posterity? If so, my random thoughts don't belong there. Much prefer ordinary notebooks from the supermarket!

Ack! That nice copy of Shaw's play that was presumably thrown away to use the cover for a notebook! Much rather have the insides (that great Don Juan in Hell act) without the cover! this does not seem inspired to me . . .

I second that, Quercus: Ex Libris Anonymous is great. I've bought many journals from them over the years. And if you send them your own old books it's even cheaper; only $9 with shipping included.

I cringe every time I see a book gutted like that. I can't help it.
