Rockin' Great Holiday
Ayers Rock

082208ayers01.jpgOur final family holiday with parents and sibling was to Ayers Rock. Getting up before dawn to watch the sunrise over the Rock, seeing it changing colours going from purple to grey to orange, it really is amazing. However, as a teenager, only the first time is impressive. After that it’s the same sunrise that you saw yesterday. However, to see that brilliant sunrise from the comfort of your bed– now that’s breathtaking!

082208ayers02.jpgLongitude 131º is THE accommodation at Ayers Rock. Not only because it is the most expense venue in the area but because you can enjoy the Rock in the comfort of your own room. These beautiful eco-friendly twin share units are free standing and each is inspired by an early Australian pioneer or explorer. They also offer a sunset dinner which we went on and was truly spectacular and worth every cent. There are 15 units all up and if you’re feeling generous you can hire them all exclusively for a mere $88,000, for you & 29 of your friends! Just from the photos it looks amazing. You can find more info at the Longitude 131º website.

It's no longer known as Ayers Rock, though. Its traditional and now widely accepted name is Uluru.
