It's week three for those of you doing The Fall Cure, hosted over at AT:NY. Our goal? To form an online group together and share in making our homes beautiful, healthy and organized in time for Thanksgiving, following the chapters in Apartment Therapy: The Eight Step Home Cure. It's not too late to jump, even if you missed weeks one and two! Click here to go to the blog.

Help- I need some advice. I have collected many wonderful things over the years and curing is really hard. Example 8 worn but wonderful oriental rugs rolled under bed, many stored paintings (good quality) etc. I need to get rid of these. I have managed to sell some stuff mid -c furniture/pottery (thanks Craig), but the process is just too slow. Do I just give it all to Salvation army and take a loss in the name of wonderful freedom or take the slow road and get very welcome cash?
Take the slow road.
Or try a consignment shop. You won't get all the money from the sale, but you won't have to negotiate with a buyer and the pieces will be out of your house and at the store. You just have to wait for the phone call from the shop that your pieces have been sold. Check the phone book. Good luck!
